The club has facilities for both indoor and outdoor target archery on site, though members also take part in field archery, clout archery and flight, having had several past champions and record holders in a variety of disciplines and bowstyles including recurve, compound and traditional longbow. The Attraction of Archery Archery is a sport that anyone can enjoy, irrespective of age, gender or disability. It is truly a family sport with everyone participating and competing at their own level. Archery is an individual sport, you are always competing against yourself, to improve your own performance. What can Barnsley Archery Club offer? The club has, in recent years, provided one-off or corporate type days and evenings for a variety of groups and organisations, including; Junior Chamber, the Environment Agency, Ramblers Association, Scout groups and Guide groups. We can offer a friendly and fun introduction to the sport of archery, and offer follow up courses for those interested in taking up the sport. Costs of events are not high, though we do need to cover insurance for participants, and we would be pleased to discuss this further. Beginners Courses These are usually Saturday afternoon, on dates arranged in May, September, and during the winter months, according to requests received. Courses are 6 sessions of two hours on consecutive weeks. Costs are currently £25.00 per participant, with equipment and tuition included. The next beginners course starts in January 2007, if you're interested please fill in the form on the Barnsley Archers website:
