U11s - Aireborough Vs Barnsley
Barnsley BRUFC U11 v Aireborough
Sunday 11 November 2007
Barnsley U11's played their first full game of the season away against Aireborough and ran out a superb 35 - 5 winners, previously all the team were playing with their own U12 team due to a lack of players.
Aaron Foy had an excellent game at centre notching up a hat-trick of tries using his speed and agility, this was backed up by Andrew Fussey at stand off who easily penetrated the Aireborough defence from depth to score a well worked try. Cameron Farrell also had a great game showing his strength and tenacity and was unlucky not to score.
The forwards were dominant led by Mathew Gillott who was very aggressive in the maul, backed up by strong running and tackling from Cameron Houghton and powerful drives from the new hooker Adam Marsden who was only just held up inches from the line. Scott McNicholas and Tyler Richardson both dominated the second row.
Man of the match went to James Lauder who played at scrum half, picking up the ball from the base of the scrum he drove low through several tackles to score an excellent individual try.
Barnsley are back at home next week against an experienced Bradford and Bingley team and will be looking to build on this very successful result.
