Barnsley Under 12s contined to develop from last season with a closely fought match against Rotherham Clifton, eventually running out 26 to 28 winners. Elliott Copely started the season in fine form scoring three well taken tries, with a combination of strong running and speed. Daniel Silcock scored the fourth, with a powerful run. All tries converted by Jamie Ashton and Daniel Silcock. The Barnsley pack were led by Callum Crossley who was a lion in the loose play, tackled ferociously and was named man of the match. Matthew Gillott captained the team and led by example, with fine line-out ball success. Special mention also goes to Bradley Bailey who anchored the scrum and secured good ball in both rucks and mauls. Overrall, Barnsley have improved throughout the closed season and attendance is continuing to improve.
